Privacy Policy

Photong (“we”) is a pose-alignment camera tool. We take your privacy seriously and design around data minimisation — we only collect what a feature actually needs, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising or tracking. This policy explains how we handle your photos and data.

Reference photos you import

When you import a reference photo to generate an alignment guide, it is sent to our image-processing service (api.photong.app) to produce the line-art / silhouette overlay. This processing is temporary: the image is used only for that request and discarded afterwards. It is not stored and is not used for any other purpose.

Photos you take

Photos you capture with Photong are saved only to your own device’s photo library and are never uploaded to our servers — we can’t see them. The guide is just an overlay while you frame the shot and never appears in the final photo.

Accounts & sign-in

An account is optional — you can pick poses, import references and shoot without one. If you choose to sign in (with Apple, Google, or email), we collect your email address and an account identifier to create your account and sync your saved poses across devices. We use this only to run these features — never for advertising or tracking.

Saved poses (your library)

If you tap “Save to library,” the reference image you saved is uploaded and stored to your account so you can reuse it later and on other devices. Saved images are stored on Cloudflare R2 and Supabase and are linked to your account. You can delete saved poses from within the app. This upload happens only when you explicitly choose to save.

Subscriptions (Photong Pro)

Photong Pro is an optional subscription purchased through Apple. Your payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or receive your card details. To manage your subscription and unlock Pro features, we use RevenueCat, which processes your purchase / subscription status and an app-user or device identifier. This is used only to deliver the Pro features you paid for.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell or rent any of your data.
• We don’t use your data for third-party advertising, our own advertising, or any form of cross-app tracking.
• We don’t collect contacts, location, microphone, or anything unrelated to the app’s features.
• We don’t train models on your photos.

Third-party services

We rely on a few providers to run the service, and they only handle the data described above:

• Apple — in-app purchases and subscription billing.
• RevenueCat — subscription management (purchase status + identifier).
• Supabase — accounts and your saved-pose records.
• Cloudflare R2 — image storage / CDN for templates and your saved poses.

Children

The app isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

When this policy changes we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
